BLITZ DEATHS

The German raids of World War Two claimed the lives of 327 firefighters serving in the London region - members of both the regular and auxilary fire services. Another 3,000 London firefighters suffered serious injuries. (More than 1,000 firefighters died across the United Kingdom during the war, including London's losses.)
